This stone internationally may be nominated as a granite however in the area of application of the European Standard (EN) this stone must be nominated as syenite.

A coarse-grained, medium blue iridescent syenite (larvikite).

Syenite: Syenite is a coarse-grained intrusive igneous rock of the same general composition as granite but with the quartz either absent or present in relatively small amounts (<5%).

Local Geology: Lundhs Labrador is the sole producer of this very popular kind of Blue Pearl, and it is produced in three quarries in Larvik. The products of the three quarries have nearly identical qualities and colour. The quarries have a capacity of 8000 - 10000 cubic metres per year.

Comment: Royal Blue TFV have a lighter background and is distinguished by larger crystals than traditional Blue Pearl. The crystals have an uniform and deep blue colour which makes the material a natural choice for projects.
